Life of a waitress

I work on the east side of providence and the other day I had a man order his filet at 140 degrees. He did not order it medium or medium rare he orderd it at 140 degrees. As he sipped on his distilled bottled Aqua Panna water. When I checked on his meal after his first bite he screamed my meat is overcooked. I simply responded "I am so sorry I will take care of it right away". As I picked up the plate he hacked all of the food that was in his mouth on to the plate. EW! How does one expect me to act like a professional. I was disgusted. My instant thoughts were WHO RAISED YOU ?! This was by far one of the most outrageous experiences I have ever had as a waitress .... Especially working at a fine dinning establishment on the easy side. People amaze me daily.

Gym pet peeves

When I'm at the gym. Leave me alone. Do not come up to me. Do not talk to me. Do not hit on me. Let me work out. I do not answer my phone. I do not text. I focus. I can't stand when people bother me and get in my face and don't take things seriously because them goofing off delays me from getting to equipment. People think I'm crazy but some people have passion and this is my passion. There is nothing I enjoy more than the feeling after a good work out.

Week from HELL.

I never thought that my life would change as drastic as it did all in one week. Leaving class on tuesday after a long full day I was exhausted and excited to know that I would be going away for a couple days for my friends birthday. I was just about to leave campus when all of a sudden my brakes failed and I smashed into the car in front of me completely crushing my entire front end. Being a 20 year old independent from my parents this was a HUGE deal for me. Taxes due soon, rent to pay, now car accident!!! Safe to say I did not get to enjoy my friends birthday that weekend! Not only was I cursed with this accident but my mother informed me she was pregnant and my best friend said she is moving to California. Life sure can be difficult and hard but I learned this past week to take life with a grain of salt and to keeping pushing along. You think you may have a plan but you really dont life could and will change completely tomorrow. Keep smiling.

Where has tradition gone???

I was ENRAGED to hear that the Pope has a Facebook account and blogs. I was raised a Roman Catholic and I believe in the traditional practices. To me the Pope is supposed to be at the Vatican practicing our Religion. I think it is morally wrong and goes against everything that the Pope engages with online profiles. And if he has someone maintaining them I think it's worst because they are not his words. Technology has gone too far if our Religious practices are being influenced...... Just my thoughts on last classes conversations...

Is technology taking over????

After Tuesdays discussions I was astounded to hear that not a single person in class subscribes to a magazine or newspaper. If I think about my grandparents they still subscribe to the old newspaper and read it daily. However I have noticed they too are relying more on computers and social networks. This to me is HUGE. History as we know it is evolving. Traditionally we think of a young boy or girl as the "paper boy" riding his or her bike around town. With people resorting to things such as iPads or computers and rumors that paper copies may no longer be available I think about how life is evolving so fast before our eyes and I'm not sure I like it too much.

Another comment that took me by surprise is the percentage of people that receive phone calls but they go right to voicemail and the thing that infuriates me is when people see that you call and instead of calling you back they text you. To me I just won't even answer. I like to call the "marinating" stage. So if you are one of those individuals DONT BE MEAN. Call back.
